Abstract: This research examines the life and legacy of George Sand (1804-1876), a French
writer of aristocratic descent who defied the social and gender norms of the 19th
century. Born Aurore Dupin, she adopted a male pseudonym to publish her works
and attain recognition in a predominantly male literary environment. Central to this
study is her distinctive choice of attire, particularly her adoption of men's clothing,
which is analyzed as both a reflection of and a tool for enacting social and cultural
disruption. Sand's preference for men's garments, such as trousers and frock coats,
extended beyond mere practicality; it represented an act of transgression and a claim
to personal autonomy. This sartorial choice enabled her to navigate through public
and cultural spaces in Paris - traditionally male-dominated - with greater freedom,
thereby exposing and challenging the prevailing gender inequalities of her time.
While her initial motivations were pragmatic rather than explicitly feminist, her stance
evolved into a symbol of emancipation. Men's fashion during the period prioritized
functionality, whereas women's fashion was restrictive and ornamental, reinforcing
their societal subordination. Sand, however, rejected these conventions, donning
attire that subverted the authority symbolized by men's trousers. This study also explores artistic representations of Sand, such as lithographs by Alcide Lorentz and
Paul Gavarni, which alternately mocked and admired her defiance. Despite facing
misogynistic criticism, Sand earned the respect and admiration of many intellectuals
and artists in her circle, including Franz Liszt and Alexandre Dumas. Her trajectory
demonstrates that clothing can serve as an "archive" of social change, embodying
struggles for freedom and gender equality. By challenging the gender norms of her
era, Sand did not reject the differences between the sexes; rather, she asserted the
right to active participation in society, unshackled by the constraints of contemporary
conventions. However, this work does not merely seek to glorify Sand but instead
presents her as a case study that illustrates how fashion can function as a marker
and agent of historical transformation.

Abstract: This monograph analyzes the symbolic construction of a Templar chivalric identity in the Middle Ages, based on the work and influence of Saint Bernard of Clairvaux (1090–1153). The main focus is on how Bernard, through his treatise De Laude Novae Militiae, contributed to legitimizing the union between monastic life and military practice, elevating the figure of the Christian knight. Drawing on concepts such as identity, difference, and alterity, discussed in the introduction, the study investigates how Bernard took part in the shaping of a religious identity defined by opposition to the other (the infidel, the layman) and by the spiritualization of the chivalric ideal. The structure of the monograph is organized as follows: the introduction offers a theoretical and conceptual discussion on identity, with particular attention to its application in the medieval context. The first chapter provides a historical contextualization of the period and an analysis of the Vita Prima Bernardi, the hagiography dedicated to the saint, with emphasis on his family origins and conversion process. The second chapter addresses Bernard’s views on society, his hierarchical vision of the Christian world, and his relationship with chivalry. Finally, the last chapter is dedicated to an analysis of De Laude Novae Militiae, highlighting its significance in the symbolic legitimization of the Christian knight and in the consolidation of a distinct identity for this group.

Abstract: This paper seeks to understand how the Ypiranga Futebol Clube Olympic Stadium, now known as the Colosso da Lagoa Olympic Stadium, located in the city of Erechim, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, was used as propaganda by Erechim's politicians, through the newspaper A Voz da Serra during the period of its construction, 1964 to 1970. This research seeks to understand how Erechim's politics were articulated in the period studied; to understand how Ypiranga Futebol Clube was presented in the newspaper and to understand what the dynamics were between the club and local and state politics, since the construction of the stadium began in the year that the president of the republic, João Goulart, was deposed by the military, and its completion coincided with the year of the Brazilian National Team's victory in the 1970 World Cup, which took place in Mexico. The methodology used is the analysis of articles from the city's largest circulation newspaper, A Voz da Serra, seeking to demonstrate how all this articulation occurred. In addition to a bibliographical research to understand the foundation and emancipation of the city of Erechim and its first inhabitants, the foundation of the Ypiranga Futebol Clube and the newspaper used as a source. Over the course of 4 chapters, it demonstrates how the football club is used as a municipal identity and reinforced by the pages of the newspaper, how the football team approaches the city's politics and how the written press uses the football stadium as a product of the Economic Miracle that was propagated by the Civil-Military Dictatorship.

Abstract: The present work proposes a theoretical and methodological reflection on the use of digital games in the teaching of history. Considering the discussions of disputes over the past, as well as the relationships between school, society, and technology, the possibilities of formal learning about the history of the Peloponnesian War are analyzed based on the electronic game "Assassin's Creed Odyssey," released in 2018 by Ubisoft. In this process, drawing on the discussion between Education 4.0 and the methodological proposals for using games in history education, the relationship between history teaching and digital educational resources is initially discussed to understand the limits and possibilities for developing students' critical consciousness. The second part involves presenting the game and the learning possibilities regarding the Peloponnesian War. Finally, it is concluded that the use of digital games, such as Assassin's Creed Odyssey, in the teaching of history, represents an important pedagogical tool capable of connecting students to the past in an immersive and interactive way. By exploring scenarios, characters, and historical events of the Peloponnesian War, the game offers learning opportunities that go beyond memorization, promoting the development of critical and reflective skills. However, it is necessary that the use of these games be grounded in a careful methodological approach that encourages critical analysis and avoids the oversimplified idealization of complex historical periods. By integrating these tools with the guidelines of Education 4.0 and the BNCC, it is possible to enhance the development of students' critical consciousness, making history teaching more dynamic and accessible for new generations.
