Abstract/Resumen: Background: Coronary collateral circulation is an adaptive pathway that protects the myocardium during ischemia. Physical exercise has been studied as a noninvasive stimulus capable of improving the prognosis of patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Objectives: To analyze the evidence on the effects of physical exercise on the formation and functionality of coronary collateral circulation in patients with CAD. Methods: This systematic review followed PRISMA 2020 guidelines. Searches were performed in the PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases using the descriptors coronary collateral circulation, exercise, physical activity, and coronary artery disease. Clinical studies evaluating physical exercise in the formation or functionality of collaterals by direct or indirect methods were included. Results: From 2,549 records identified, 17 studies met the inclusion criteria. Overall, the evidence showed that supervised physical exercise of moderate to high intensity improves the functionality of coronary collateral circulation, reflected by enhanced myocardial perfusion and reduced ischemic response. Regarding formation, the evidence was less consistent, with new vessel development mainly observed in prolonged or ischemic training protocols. Conclusions: Physical exercise enhances the functionality of coronary collateral circulation and may modestly favor structural formation, improving myocardial perfusion through collateral recruitment. These findings reinforce supervised exercise as a safe and effective therapeutic strategy for the rehabilitation of stable CAD patients.

Abstract/Resumen: Prostate cancer remains a leading cause of cancer-related mortality among men, and nutritional factors have emerged as potential modulators of disease progression. This systematic review aimed to evaluate the influence of different dietary approaches on prostate cancer progression. Literature searches were conducted in PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science databases, covering the period from 2016 to 2025, following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines. Observational and interventional studies assessing dietary patterns in relation to tumor progression outcomes were included. Eight studies met the eligibility criteria, addressing low-carbohydrate, ketogenic, Mediterranean, and plant-based diets, as well as global dietary quality indices. Low-carbohydrate and ketogenic diets demonstrated prolonged prostate-specific antigen doubling time, while the Mediterranean diet showed a moderate but inconsistent protective effect. Plant-based diets were consistently associated with a reduced risk of disease progression, particularly among patients with high-grade tumors, whereas global indices such as the Healthy Eating Index and the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension showed no significant associations. In conclusion, specific dietary interventions may play an adjuvant role in prostate cancer management, although further large-scale randomized controlled trials are needed to confirm these findings.

Abstract/Resumen: Objective: To describe the compliance of medical records completion in a teaching outpatient clinic
with legislation and literature. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study conducted in Passo Fundo,
RS, using data from the electronic medical record system of a teaching outpatient clinic. The sample
comprised records of outpatient visits conducted from January 2022 to December 2023. The completion
of 18 items in each analyzed record was verified, and one point was assigned for each correctly filled
item. Based on the total score of each medical record, central tendency measures were verified for the
entire sample and for each specialty studied (Pulmonology, Nephrology, Cardiology, Gynecology, and Gastroenterology). A statistical test (Kruskal-Wallis) was applied to compare completion among the
different specialties. Results: The sample consisted of 270 medical records. The items with the lowest
completion rates were Occupation (25.56%) and Review of Systems (30%). A total of 59.63% of the
medical records were considered to have adequate completion. Furthermore, 48.15% of the records
contained patient instructions considered well-detailed. No statistically significant difference was
observed in the completion of medical records among the different specialties analyzed. Conclusion:
The quality of medical records completion in the teaching outpatient clinic is partial, with specific
deficiencies in certain items, but without disparity among specialties.
