Abstract/Resumen: Higher education is currently established as an indispensable technical training for advancement in the job market and consequently in society. Thus, decentralized universities in peripheral regions of the country, such as the Federal University of the Southern Border (UFFS), play a major role as training spaces for the less privileged social classes, offering training spaces that until now could only be accessed in large institutions located near large urban centers. In view of this, this work aims to highlight the processes related to grassroots social movements, especially the PRO-UFFS Movement, considered the protagonist in the construction of a federal university with a “popular” character. The methodology adopted is based on a specialized bibliography that addresses the influences and political issues surrounding Brazilian higher education, as well as focusing on clarifying the political and administrative factors that favored the development of the university through the promotion of initiatives to stimulate public higher education. The text highlights the actions of the pro-University movement in an attempt to achieve this objective and consolidate UFFS as a public and “popular” institution, due to the strong presence of the capitalist State in its functioning. Through an analysis of the political scenario involved in this process of creating the university, one also observes the phenomenon related to the political opportunity promoted through interactions between organizations such as unions, social movements and the community itself, which together, in an organic way, organized themselves and intended for the university to come to the mesoregion of the great Mercosur border, an opportunity that will favor the human and economic development of the region.

Abstract/Resumen: This undergraduate thesis examines the Anarchist Movement as the academic focus of our&#xD;
research, with the Paris Commune of 1871 as the sociological object of investigation.&#xD;
Additionally, we explore key ideas associated with Federalism (Proudhonian) and Self-&#xD;
Management (Socialist). To support our bibliographic review, we employ theoretical and&#xD;
epistemological tools from Historical Sociology and Social History. Our analysis discusses&#xD;
the role of the (French) anarchist movement in the Parisian insurrection, highlighting the&#xD;
emergence and dissolution of the International Workingmen’s Association (IWA). We also&#xD;
debate the influence of IWA members in founding the “revolutionary clubs” and “Vigilance&#xD;
Committees,” which were essential for governmental decentralization during the Commune’s&#xD;
existence. The authors we engage with include George Woodcock, Max Nettlau, Jean&#xD;
Préposiet, Kristin Ross, Ian McKay, Alexandre Samis, Karl Marx, Horacio González, and&#xD;
Prosper-Olivier Lissagaray. Moreover, we address the historical omission and distortion of&#xD;
anarchist practices by the Marxist school throughout the decades. Finally, we conclude that&#xD;
the Paris Commune of 1871, emerging from the establishment of the Anarchist Movement as&#xD;
a political organization in 1868, represents the first anti-statist and anti-authoritarian&#xD;
proletarian revolution.

    <title>Movimentos sociais conservadores no Oeste de Santa Catarina</title>

Abstract/Resumen: The present study focuses on the analysis of Conservative Social Movements in the western region of Santa Catarina, focusing on the municipality of Chapecó-SC. The objective is to understand these movements, exploring their underlying motivations and identifying the principles of conservatism present in them. The period investigated covers the years 2013 to 2019. The mobilization of these groups was influenced, to a large extent, by the demonstrations that broke out in Brazil from 2013 onwards. Initially triggered by a protest against the increase in bus fares in São Paulo, these demonstrations evolved into a broader protest movement against government corruption, extending to the western region of Santa Catarina. The study uses a methodology based on analytical procedures of qualitative research, including literary reviews, analysis of data from public social networks, and the technique of Oral History through interviews with members of Conservative Social Movements. The work is structured into three chapters. The first explores the fundamental concepts of Conservatism. The second focuses on Social Movements, including conservative ones, and their trajectory in Brazil. The third explores the historical formation of the western region of Santa Catarina and sheds light on local social movements through the reports of those interviewed. These reports provide a better understanding of the characteristics, principles and motivations of the Conservative Social Movements in Western Santa Catarina.
