Abstract/Resumen: This research sought to investigate, through an interdisciplinary approach between psychoanalysis and political philosophy, the phenomenon of voluntary servitude and the psychic conditions that sustain the adhesion of individuals and collectives to authoritarian and tyrannical leaders. The problem guiding the investigative thinking was: in what way can psychoanalysis, in dialogue with philosophy, offer an expanded understanding of the psychic conditions that sustain the mass adhesion to tyrannical leaders? The general objective consisted of investigating, through psychoanalytic theory interdisciplinarily combined with philosophy, the social phenomenon of voluntary submission to authoritarian leaderships, with the following specific objectives: to examine the notion of voluntary servitude in Étienne de La Boétie; to characterize psychoanalysis as an instrument of social research; and to present Freudian metapsychological concepts (such as narcissism, ego ideal, ideal ego, masochism, and helplessness) that contribute to the understanding of the bond with the leader. The work employed a qualitative, bibliographical, interdisciplinary, and deconstructive methodology, taking La Boétie's Discourse on Voluntary Servitude as a privileged empirical-discursive object, read in light of contributions from Plato, Spinoza, and Adorno in the philosophical field, and from Sigmund Freud, Joel Birman, and others in the psychoanalytic field. The central hypothesis sustained is that voluntary servitude cannot be understood merely as a political or ideological phenomenon, but must be thought of as an experience inscribed in the psychic economy of subjects: the subject not only obeys, but actively participates in producing their own submission, libidinally investing in the leader, identifying with them, and often finding, in the masochistic bond, an unconscious defense against helplessness. The research demonstrated that the mass organizes itself from affective bonds structured around the ego ideal, a mechanism by which each member renounces their own critical instance and deposits it in the figure of the leader. The narcissism of minor differences, identification with the aggressor, and civilizational malaise appeared as theoretical operators that allowed understanding both the internal cohesion of groups and the systematic hostility directed at the other. Among the findings is that freedom is neither a definitive conquest nor a naturally given state, but a permanent task of subjective elaboration, and that the critique of tyranny, to be effective, cannot do without listening to the unconscious processes that render domination not only tolerable, but desirable.

Abstract/Resumen: Our research topic is theater as a possible educational and didactic tool in the formation of collective memory in the territories of the archaeological sites of the Jesuit-Guarani Missions in Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay, seeking to understand the asymmetrical power relations expressed in these missionary territories and landscapes. The general objective is to analyze power relations, past and present, in our research areas, through an interdisciplinary approach that articulates Art, History and Geography. To this end, we problematize the power asymmetries established between the Portuguese and Spanish crowns, the Jesuits and the Guarani people, based on a critical analysis of theatrical texts produced by Jesuit priests, engaging in dialogue with authors and research in the aforementioned areas. As specific objectives, we seek to analyze contemporary missionary performances, verifying to what extent they contribute to the understanding of the colonization process and to reflection on its consequences today. Furthermore, we propose a critique of art that conceals or reveals power discourses present in contemporary missionary territories and landscapes. The methodological approach was based on a survey of theoretical references, fieldwork (Neto, 2002) and content analysis (Moraes, 1999). The results indicate that the representations of power in archaeological sites still reproduce colonial perspectives, evidenced by the centrality of religious symbols, the predominance of performances with reduced criticism of the colonizing process, and the absence of the remaining indigenous peoples as active agents in these spaces of memory.

Abstract/Resumen: In 2015, the state of São Paulo was the scene of a widespread secondary school student uprising, marked by the occupation of 213 public schools in opposition to the so-called "School Reorganization," an educational reform proposed by the state government that would impact thousands of students. This qualitative research seeks to answer the question: what is the educational aspect in the relationships involving the subjects of the school reorganization in the state of São Paulo in 2015 and its unfolding consequences? Therefore, we establish two main dynamics: the educational aspect present in the reform, and the educational aspect present in the relationships of the students involved in the political action. To answer this question, we begin with the historical analysis of the events, to then make a theoretical analysis anchored in a post-critical perspective through authors such as Sebastián Plá (2022), Walter Benjamin (1987), Jorge Larrosa (2018), Luiz Carlos de Freitas (2018), and Ricardo Timm de Souza (2020). The reorganization of schools is understood as a “non-project” that operates based on the pretensed totalizing rationality of neoliberalism, and establishes it as a distinct educational phenomenon, mobilizing values, discourses, and practices that changes the worldview of the affected subjects. In parallel, the educational potential of the school occupations is analyzed and understood as resistance practices that produces experiences through collectivity, making possible other ways of perceiving and intervening in the world beyond the logics imposed by neoliberalism. The study uses bibliographic, documentary, and media sources, including news reports, materials produced by the students themselves on social media, and the book Escolas de Luta (Campos, Medeiros, and Ribeiro, 2016), which compiles interviews and accounts fundamental to understanding the dynamics and meanings of the secondary school student struggle against the reform implemented during the Alckmin government (2014–2018).
