Abstract/Resumen: The combined application of hydrated oyster shell lime (HOSL) and rice husk ash (RHA) in alkali-activated binders is still unexplored in the literature. Furthermore, specific comparative studies to understand the chemical and microstructural differences between binders produced from different silica sources remain limited. Therefore, this research sought to fill these gaps by producing an alkali-activated binder based on rice husk ash (RHA), hydrated oyster shell lime (HOSL), and an activated NaOH solution, as well as comparing this binder with another produced from photovoltaic module glass (PMG), HOSL, and an activated NaOH solution. A critical analysis revealed specific limitations and gaps related to the use of HOSL in scientific research, and an experimental design was developed that fixed variables involving different curing times (7, 14, 28, 63, and 91 days), activator concentration (1, 3, 5, 7, and 9M), and different RHA/HOSL arrangements (90/10, 80/20, 70/30, and 60/40). The produced binders were evaluated for their mechanical and chemical behavior through Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) tests, Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), and statistics using ANOVA and Tukey's multiple comparison test. Additionally, a comparison between the binders was performed based on microstructural and chemical analyses obtained by Scanning Electron Microscopy coupled with X-ray Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy. (SEM/EDS). The results showed good mechanical behavior in relation to Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS), mainly for compositions containing up to 30% HOSL and 80% RHA, with molarities between 1 and 5 M. The 80/20 (RHA/HOSL) sample activated with a 3 M solution showed continuous improvement in strength throughout the curing period, going from 0.50 MPa at 7 days to 0.67 MPa at 14 days, 1.20 MPa at 28 days, 3.10 MPa at 63 days, and reaching a peak of 3.94 MPa at 91 days. FTIR and SEM/EDS analyses indicated the formation of C-A-S-H and N-A-S-H gels, with a predominance of hybrid structures of the (N,C)-A-S-H type, responsible for the development of the mechanical properties of the binders. Thus, the cement Alkali-activated binders derived from RHA, HOSL, and NaOH proved effective in terms of mechanical and microstructural properties for application in non-structural installation blocks, class I and II laying and coating mortars, and ceramic bricks and blocks, highlighting the binder as a good substitute for Traditional Portland Cement (OPC) in these cases. Comparisons between binders using RHA or PMG as a silica source demonstrated different phases of gel formation and microstructure evolution, showing that the structural form of silica directly influences the dissolution of precursors, the organization of the silicate network, and the homogeneity of the products formed.

Abstract/Resumen: This research sought to understand the relationship between nature and society in order to&#xD;
answer the following question: how do the port activities of the Companhia das Docas do Estado&#xD;
da Bahia (CODEBA) affect the community of Feira de São Joaquim in Salvador, and how do&#xD;
the actions of the Environmental Education Program address the socio-environmental impacts,&#xD;
and what measures can contribute as a mitigating instrument in the surroundings of the Bay of&#xD;
All Saints? The main results indicated that the CODEBA Environmental Education Program,&#xD;
updated in 2015, has never been effectively applied in the community; the fishermen and&#xD;
shellfish gatherers find themselves in a situation of double vulnerability, environmental and&#xD;
urban; despite resistance strategies, the absence of communication and institutional assistance&#xD;
means that the problems faced remain obstacles for the population. The socio-historical&#xD;
relationship between the Port of Salvador and the Fair was analyzed from the perspective of the&#xD;
fairground community, as well as the impacts of projects for the implementation and expansion&#xD;
of maritime ports. These impacts were analyzed and characterized to portray and understand&#xD;
their meanings from the perspective of the community's perception and social memory. Critical&#xD;
and Emancipatory Environmental Education actions were proposed with the support of Social&#xD;
Psychology, applying the following methodological steps: 1) documentary research on the&#xD;
historical, social, and economic evolution of the Fair and the Port; 2) literature review on the&#xD;
theme of Socio-environmental Impacts; 3) fieldwork with the application of semi-structured&#xD;
interviews to a focus group of fishermen and shellfish gatherers, using the "snowball" sampling&#xD;
technique; 4) presentation of the results through qualitative analysis of the collected data. This&#xD;
study aimed to encompass the perception of the investigated groups regarding socioenvironmental&#xD;
impacts, so that its results foster the formulation of public policies and&#xD;
environmental education programs that promote ecological citizenship, collective participation,&#xD;
and sustainable development.

Abstract/Resumen: Weeds limit soybean production by competing for essential resources such as water, light, and nutrients. Therefore, chemical control should be based on knowledge of the species present, their potential to damage the crop, and the available management options, especially herbicides. In this context, this research aimed to evaluate the optimal timing for the control of hairy fleabane (Conyza bonariensis), as well as the effects of single or tank-mixed applications agricultural inputs on selectivity, physiological characteristics, and grain yield components of soybean with Enlist® technology. In the three field experiments conducted, the objectives were, respectively: (a) to evaluate the efficacy and selectivity of herbicides applied before and after soybean sowing for the control of hairy fleabane; (b) to assess selectivity, effects on physiological characteristics, and grain yield components of soybean with Enlist® technology when herbicides were applied alone or tank-mixed with agricultural inputs; and (c) to evaluate selectivity, effects on physiological characteristics, and grain yield components of soybean with Enlist® technology when insecticides, fungicides, and herbicides were applied alone or tank-mixed. The experiments were arranged in a randomized block design with four replications. The evaluated variables included hairy fleabane control, soybean phytotoxicity, and the effects of these factors on gas exchange and grain yield components of the crop, cultivar Vênus. The first study showed that treatments with mesotrione + atrazine, dicamba, 2,4-D, and atrazine + simazine applied in early management, combined with desiccation using diquat + saflufenacil and post-emergence application of 2,4-D choline + glyphosate, ensured effective control of hairy fleabane and higher grain yield. The second study demonstrated that the tank mixture of glyphosate+2,4-D choline with agricultural inputs increased phytotoxicity and reduced yield, especially in sequential applications (V3+V6), whereas the isolated use of agricultural inputs&#xD;
promoted an average increase of 3.16% in soybean grain yield. The third study showed that the application of glyphosate + ammonium glufosinate + 2,4-D choline + benzovindiflupyr + prothioconazole + thiamethoxam + lambda-cyhalothrin mixed in the spray tank resulted in the highest phytotoxicity to soybean and, at the same time, was one of the treatments that provided the highest grain yield. The use of different herbicides in early management, desiccation, and post-sowing soybean applications becomes an alternative for controlling hairy fleabane, resulting in high soybean grain yields. Herbicide mixtures with agricultural inputs, especially in sequential applications, increased phytotoxicity and reduced soybean grain yield. Applications of fungicides, herbicides, and insecticides tank-mixed increased phytotoxicity in soybean but did not necessarily compromise grain yield, highlighting the physiological and productive compensation capacity of Enlist® soybean.
