Renovação carismática católica e o pentecostalismo: dois movimentos e uma só fé no Espírito Santo

Abstract

The objective of this study was to understand the historical trajectory the practices of Catholic Charismatic Renewal in Brazil. For this, he was approached about this movement came from the Vatican Council II, and how it was introduced into the Brazilian Catholic hierarchy. It also sought to situate the charismatic practices within the religious field and how was the acceptance of the people in this new movement. We conducted a historical overview of the Brazilian Pentecostalism, bringing the affinities and differences of these two movements. Addressed in this study was also the marketing strategies via radio, television, commercial and sales of religious objects of the Catholic Charismatic Renewal and the Pentecostal faithful to attract and expand it. To analyze this expansion, we sought to detect the cause of attraction to these religious practices of emotional nature. In today's society many arising from social, economic and religious problems existing structure, promote the diverse demands of solutions in the religious field. The lack of physical and social, economic and psychological hope makes people cling to supernatural experiences in which the sacred fills these gaps, where the Holy Spirit is seen as a phenomenon that can ease the tensions and dramas of each individual. Finally stressed that this phenomenon turned out to be so interpreted by scholars of religion within academic field.
