Abstract: | Medicinal plants have in their composition secondary metabolites that may be an important option for alternative control of plant diseases in agroecological farming. However, for the control of some diseases there is little information. An example is the white-rust caused by the rocket Albugo candida. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the potential of aqueous crude extract (EB) of different medicinal plants in controlling the disease. The EB was used at a concentration of 10% on the germination of sporangia and severity of the disease in the field arugula seedlings. The tests were conducted in a completely randomized design with 12 treatments, four replicates with four plants per repetition. All extracts inhibited the release of zoospores from sporangia in bioassay and extracts that have higher efficiency were dandelion, ruby and rosemary, however the field there was no efficient extract in controlling the disease. |
