Oficinas de produção de artesanato na terra indígena Toldo Chimbangue, Chapecó – SC

Abstract

The present study has the objective of analyzing the material production of the handicraft workshops held at the Fen'nó Indigenous School of Elementary Education, in the Toldo Chimbangue Indigenous Territory, located in the city of Chapecó - SC. Handicraft refers to the traditions of the community and to what it identifies as its distinct brands, specific to its identity, and therefore, is a significant identity and symbolic representation for indigenous communities in general. Craft workshops have been held in EIEF Fen'no in partnership with the community of Terra Indígena since the year 2000. For the accomplishment of this work, we observe the pedagogical practices of confection of the artifacts and consider archaeological, anthropological, historical and ethno-historical data in an egalitarian and complementary way. It was investigated how the craft workshops are organized by the community, which artifacts are privileged in the developed production activities and how these workshops are inserted in the process of revaluation of the indigenous material culture of the Kaingang people.
