Blend de óleos essenciais na dieta de leitões na fase de creche

Abstract

Since swine studies have advanced a lot in recent years, gains in productivity growth from now on are very small. The use of essential oils appears as a possibility of this increase, since there are studies that show efficiency in the stages of growth and finishing of pigs, with interesting gains in feed conversion and also distinguished by their antiparasitic, antioxidant and antimicrobial properties, which brings benefits to animals. The objective of this study was to evaluate the use of a blend containing essential oils, flavonoids, terpenes, mucilage and spicy substances, at a dosage of 300 grams per ton of feed, in order to compare the daily weight gain, feed conversion, consumption and weight of organs. There were no significant differences (p> 0.05) in the variables studied (final weight, weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion and organ weight) of pigs in the day care phase, receiving diets supplemented or not with the blend of essencial oils. The use of Blend of essential oils, flavonoids, terpenes, mucilage and spicy substances did not influence the performance, incidence of diarrhea and biometry of piglets in the final phase of the nursery. Further studies should be carried out on farms presenting relevant health challenges.
