dc.description.abstractThe Titanosauriformes are the most diverse and abundant group of sauropod dinosaurs in South America, which obtained a great evolutionary success during the Upper Cretaceous. During the evolutionary process of these herbivorus gigants, there were anatomical changes in the body plane, among these, we highlight changes in the hind limbs, such as the alteration in the fêmur morphology, which is linked to the biomechanics of these dinosaurs. In this way, the present work had as objective to elaborate a survey of the state of the art of the morphology of femurs of titanosaurs of South America already described in the literature, seeking to contribute with the compilation of data and in future studies on the evolutionary process of the group. The results and considerations obtained reveal a significant number of findings, however few have more detailed morphological descriptions. However, they present similar characteristics that characterize the South American femurs.pt_BR
dc.description.resumoOs Titanossauriformes constitui o grupo de dinossauros saurópodes mais diversos e abundantes da América do Sul, que obtiveram um grande sucesso evolutivo durante o Cretáceo Superior. No decorrer do processo evolutivo destes gigantes herbívoros, ocorreram alterações anatômicas no plano corporal, dentre estas, destacamos as alterações nos membros posteriores, como a alteração na morfologia do fêmur, que está ligada a biomecânica destes dinossauros. Desta forma, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo elaborar um levantamento do estado da arte da morfologia de fêmures de titanossauros da América do Sul já descritos na literatura, buscando contribuir com a compilação de dados e em estudos futuros sobre os processos evolutivos do grupo. Os resultados e considerações obtidos revelam um número significativo de achados, no entanto poucos apresentam descrições morfológicas mais detalhadas. Porém, apresentam características similares que caracterizam os fêmures Sul Americanos.pt_BR
