Mulheres negras nos livros didáticos de história de Gilberto Cotrim

Abstract

This research, entitled Black Women in the Didactic Book of History by Gilberto Cotrim, analyzed images and texts where black women represented in History textbooks, being the Global History Brazil and General Collection of the 1st year of High School, from PNLD 2012, and the Global Brazil and General History Collections used from the 1st to the 3rd year of high school, from the PNLD 2015, 2016 and 2017 and PNLD 2018, 2019 and 2020, all authored by Gilberto Cotrim. Books related to Applied Human and Social Sciences, from PNLD 2020, in which the author is one of the four authors present, were also analyzed. The discussions are inserted in the field of Teaching History by debating aspects of the classroom, such as the uses of textbooks and the challenges present in this area of teaching, and with interdisciplinary theoretical debates, by dialoguing with authors from other areas of knowledge, such as the Social Sciences, Philosophy and Education. From the analysis of textbooks, it was possible to verify that black women have little visibility, as intellectuals, warriors or historical characters. They are more visible when it comes to slavery in portraits of colonizers, within a Eurocentric and patriarchal vision.
