Mulheres e filosofias: a legitimação de um lugar de fala

Abstract

Women and Philosophy have always been a very controversial topic to be discussed, due to the fact that there is not an assured place of speech for them in the philosophical field. The objective of this research is to understand how women can legitimize this place of speech. The methodology used for this research was a bibliographic review of published books and articles pertinent to the proposed theme. The importance of this research is justified by the observation of an erasure of the presence of women in philosophy, which occurs mainly through the lack of records about them, making research on this theme increasingly urgent and necessary. This research is structured in three chapters: the first one discusses the problem of women in philosophy, the second one weaves a small inventory of who women philosophers have been throughout history, and the third one approaches decolonization as a possibility for the legitimation of a place of speech. The results obtained through this research point to the fact that there have always been women in the field of philosophical work. As a specific result of the intended goal, it was observed that the way to the legitimization of a feminine place of speech within the most diverse philosophies is through the decolonization of what is understood today as philosophy. Thus, it is concluded that it is necessary to decolonize an already established process, therefore structural, of what is understood as philosophy in order to effectively aggregate its actors, in the case of this research, women.
