Abstract

This research had as its main research objective the role of School Management (direction) in Full-Time Education following Coelho's theories; Anísio Teixeira and Demerval Saviani, among others. The specific objectives are: Present the historical evolution of full-time education; Conceptualize full-time education according to the theory of: Mota, Galian and Sampaio, Mattos, Coelho and, in the end, identify the main challenges faced by school managers in the face of full-time education today. The methodology used was through qualitative research and the bibliographic method based on publications of books and magazines specializing in education, in addition to many articles available on the internet. The research concluded that the main challenges faced by managers in today's full-time education are not the fact that the school needs democratic management and adapting to current times. In other words, democratic management may be the best way to ensure that educational objectives are directed towards training, understanding that all subjects involved in the educational process must commit to it and act.
