Gênero e o movimento das mulheres camponesas: a independência feminina e os impactos nas concepções de masculidade de seus pares

Abstract

This dissertation aims to investigate gender violence within the Movimento das Mulheres Camponesas (MMC), based on the reports of the participants themselves. The research examines gender relations within the movement and seeks to identify possible changes in masculinity conceptions, as well as the different forms of violence present since the founding of the MMC to the present day. The methodology adopted in this study is based on contributions from the field of oral history, using the women's testimonies as the main source of analysis, in addition to analyzing the bibliographies produced by them or about them over the last few years. Through this approach, it is intended to understand the experiences lived by the participants, as well as the transformations that occurred in gender dynamics within the family. Additionally, it seeks to analyze how these transformations served as a basis for the formation of the Peasant Women's Movement and to guide their struggles, with the objective of overcoming the obstacles that prevent the achievement of a just and egalitarian society. The research aims to contribute to the understanding of gender dynamics in MMC, considering the autonomy and independence conquered by women and how this affects relationships with their male family members, especially partners and ex-partners. These analyzes will help to better understand the experiences of women in the movement, listing possible ways to overcome some of the challenges faced and strengthening the fight for a more equitable society.
