As relativas restritivas no português brasileiro: uma abordagem cartográfica

Abstract

The present work aimed to describe and explain the characteristics of the relative clauses of BP (De Vries, 2002), with a main focus on the headed relatives and restrictive relatives. Specifically, we aim to revisit the literature regarding relative clauses, in order to find the most appropriate way to describe their semantic properties (De Vries, 2002; Valer, 2008; Santos, 2015), their classification (Tarallo, 1983; Kenedy, 2002, 2023; Valer, 2008), lexical properties (Valer, 2008; Marchesan, 2012) and syntactic properties (Tarallo, 1983). We observed that the Raising is the model that best describes the relatives (Kayne, 1994; Bianchi, 1999; Kenedy, 2023). We did tests with relative pronouns in order to check the possibilities of use in BP. Through Raising, at the end of the dissertation, we proposed a description of the restrictives relatives from a cartographic perspective (Rizzi, 1997; Cinque, Rizzi, 2008; Guesser, 2020; Tescari Neto, 2020).
