'Me tocou virar tudo': cicatrizes discursivas em descendentes de imigrantes italianos

Abstract

This research analyzes through personal narratives, by the memory traces, discursive scars resulting from the processes of identification and interdiction in the linguistic constitution of descendants of Italian immigrants. From the theoretical framework of Discourse Analysis (AD), French approach, we problematize the relationship between subject, language, discursive memory and historicity. The corpus of analysis of this research was constituted from semi-structured interviews with descendants of Italian immigrants of different ages living in Concordia city– Santa Catarina State. From the interviews, these enunciators (re)vealed scarring of the Italian language as a constitutive element of their identifications to the language, which allowed us to infer that the constitution of the subject is crossed by the language. Believing that all linguistic relationship is a relationship between languages, our hypothesis that the descendants of Italian immigrants had on their personal narratives marks of interdiction and silencing the language of immigration was sustained, because we understand by the theoretical reference and the analytical gesture that all relationship of to be – between -languages produce to the subject a fragile discursive place, and full of tensions, a place where moments of identification are performed by the inscription on the porous frontiers of language. Among the identificatory traces analyzed, we understand that were emphasized, the interdiction and the function of immigration language in this gesture interpretation. Thus, we can demonstrate that the linguistic constitution of the descendants of Italian immigrants, there are marks of the Italian language that were not deleted, become scars that mean and are updated in the enunciation.
