Author: | Oliveira, Juliana Gracietti |

Abstract: | The exploration and processing of minerals are among the activities that will generate environmental impacts, mainly by emission of pollutants in the atmosphere, damage to health and well being of the population. Through it, this work has as a main objective to dimension a cyclone attached to a sleeve filter, so that they can mitigate the emissions of particulate matter in the source. Through a literature review can identify the main pollutants associated with this activity, as well as the parameters required to perform the design. Therefore, the results demonstrated that with the implementation of this system reduces the emission of 449.96 kg.h-1 in the cyclone inlet to 67.49 kg.h-1 at the exit, coming out of the filter sleeve with 0, 675 kg.h-1 , approximately 1% of the emissions entering the sleeve filter. However, this efficiency depends on several factors, including the operation of the equipment, the type of fabric used and the cleaning of the filter sleeves. As soon as the system has been designed to achieve high efficiency, the literature recommends polyester sleeves for use, in order that the same has a high durability and good resistance to abrasion, alkalinity and acidity. Furthermore, cleaning must be carried out by reverse flow, since it is the most efficient. However, it is also necessary to determine the size of the particles generated in the fractional activity and efficiency of the particulate matter in practice to prove the actual efficiency of the system. |
