Educação física na educação infantil: a questão da infância nas revistas de educação infantil

Abstract

The present work focuses on Physical Education in the context of Early Childhood Education. Considered a relevant subject in view of the expansion and recognition of this level of education in recent years. As an initial resource, research of a bibliographic nature was used to discuss the relationship between these two areas of knowledge. Next, the study sought to present results of a state - of - the - art quantitative / qualitative research, which analyzed publications from 2010 to 2014 of three electronic journals that develop research related to Physical Education: Brazilian Journal of Physical Education And Sport; Revista Motivo and Revista da Educação Física / UEM. The objective was to investigate the relevance given to Early Childhood Education by the professionals and researchers related to the Physical Education area in their theoretical productions, with Early Childhood Education being also the field of these professionals. The analysis was based on the reading of the summaries of the journals, which allowed to identify among the three journals 13 articles related to the theme "child" (referring to children under six) and two related to the theme "Infant Education", out of a total of 877 Publications (articles / dissertations) referring to the analyzed five years of the three journals. Through the qualitative and quantitative data demonstrated by the research, we observed that there is little emphasis on this area of ​​education that is also the field of action of Physical Education professionals. The few theoretical publications concerning childhood were devoted to the investigation of abilities and physical fitness. We perceive the lack of an investigative look on the benefits of Physical Education for the integral development of the subjects.
