Resume:	Este trabalho consiste na análise e reflexão feita a partir de uma pesquisa realizada em uma escola pública estadual, localizada no município de Chapecó, oeste de Santa Catarina. Abordando principalmente a relação da juventude com a sociedade de consumo na concepção de Zygmunt Bauman, e a interferência da mídia neste processo, focando na atuação da televisão sobre os modos de pensar e agir dos estudantes pesquisados, e como a escola age frente a este cenário.
Abstract:	This term paper consists in analysis and reflection out of a research on a state school situated in the municipality of Chapecó, in the west of Santa Catarina. Tackling mostly the relation of youths with consumer society according to Zygmunt Bauman, and the interference of media in this process, remarking the influence of television on the behavior and ways of thinking of the surveyed students, as well as how school acts in this scenario.
