Caracterização hidrometeorológica dos eventos de inundação e alagamento ocorridos no município de Chapecó (SC)

Abstract

As floods are more disastrous for the population. The municipality of Chapecó has recorded such events since the year 1960. The objective of this work is to perform a hydrometeorological characterization of flood and flood events in the urban area of the municipality of Chapecó. From the hydrometeorological data collection, a characterization was carried out through the identification of occurrences of flood events between the years 1980 to 2015 and the calculation of hydrometeorological variables. It was found that the seasons of the year that had the highest occurrences of flood events were spring and summer, another observation realized, so that the events that occurred in the winter reach more number of neighborhoods, and present higher values of APIs , Hence higher soil conditions may favor more severe flooding. In view of this, it was observed that there are year periods that can influence the greater amount of flood events in the municipality of Chapecó.
