Abstract

The proposed study aims to understand the political / social power associated with the customs of the Community Quilombola Adelaide Maria Trinity Baptist, located in the city of Palmas / PR, thinking the community from the female lead. Already identified that among the individuals who make up the community is the political and social leadership lady Maria Arlete Ferreira da Silva. Sources studied / researched were the oral history and community Minutes Book. The minutes indicate the debate about the struggles and achievements of this community, with significant representation of women's leadership. This is an urban quilombo therefore to be understood that given the expansion of urban centers, many quilombo territories became part of a larger space, yet remain driven by the desire of appreciation of his past of struggle and resistance to become increasingly more visible.
