Livro didático em geografia: uma reflexão sobre seu uso na aula

Abstract

Since becoming an important tool for education in the classroom, especially in Elementary School, the textbook has been discussed and evaluated, showing the limits and possibilities. As one of the resource present in Geography lessons in the Basic Education School, is the textbook that, in many cases, becomes used and characterized as a guiding school. Therefore, our goal is to reflect about how the textbook has been used in Geography lessons in Elementary School, establishing a dialogue between theoretical discussions and the statement of teachers and students of Elementary School. This study allows us to infer that the textbook is so intertwined with the Geography teaching that happens to be used, before, during and after classes. It can be said that the textbook is one of the most important resources because it helps to guide the curriculum planning and teachers pedagogical practice, setting up as a powerful influencer of student learning and even teachers.
