| Title: | A liberdade em cartas de alforria: Campos de Palmas/PR 1860-1888 |

| Resume: | O presente estudo tem como objetivo analisar a relação entre escravidão e liberdade nos Campos de Palmas/PR no período de 1860-1888, investigando as condições da alforria e as características dos indivíduos que receberam a liberdade. Assim, as principais fontes que serão analisadas e discutidas neste trabalho são 56 cartas de alforria que concederam 66 liberdades e 6 cartas pela Lei dos Sexagenários, estas encontram-se disponíveis para pesquisa no Tabelionato de Notas de Palmas e outras cartas são disponibilizadas pelo Arquivo Público do Paraná. Além desses registros cartoriais, buscamos mais informações sobre os libertos nos registros eclesiásticos disponíveis na Cúria Diocesana, para compreender a trajetória e as relações desses indivíduos ligados à escravidão e que por muito tempo ficaram “invisíveis” e também foram negados neste espaço geográfico. Nos Campos de Palmas a presença escrava estava diretamente associada à manutenção da economia, a sociedade pastoril e a de subsistência, sendo importante perceber quem eram os sujeitos que receberam e porque estavam recebendo a liberdade e quem era o sujeito que assinava a alforria, assim como seus interesses nesta ação. A partir da análise qualitativa dos dados, conseguimos levantar várias questões e possibilidades acerca dos alforriados. |
| Abstract: | The present study aims to analyze the relationship between slavery and freedom in Campos de Palmas / PR in the period of 1860-1888, investigating the conditions of the manumission and the characteristics of the individuals who received the freedom. Thus, the main sources that will be analyzed and discussed in this work are 56 letters of manumission that granted 66 freedoms and 6 letters by the Sexagenarians Law, these are available to download at Palmas Notary Public and other letters are available by Public Archive of Paraná. In addition to these registrations, we sought more information about the freed in the ecclesiastical registrations available at Diocesan Court. To understand the trajectory and relationships of these individuals linked to slaver and that for a long time were "invisible" and also denied in this geographical space. In Campos de Palmas the slave presence was directly associated with the maintenance of the economy, the pastoral and subsistence society, being important to realize who were the individuals who received and why they were getting freedom, and who was the individuals who signed the manumission, as well as their interests in this action. From the qualitative analysis, we can raise various issues and possibilities about freed. |
