Abstract: The wide use of herbicides in agriculture favored the occurrence of herbicide-resistant weeds. In this sense the identification of resistant biotypes favors the adoption of management strategies. We aimed with this study to confirm the resistance of Wild Poinsettia (Euphorbia heterophylla) from the States of Rondônia (RO) and Rio Grande do Sul (RS) to different herbicide mechanisms of action, and to determine the dose needed for 50% reduction in dry mass (GR50) and 50% control of plants (LD50). The experiment was conducted under greenhouse in randomized blocks design with four replications. The herbicides used were: imazethapyr, chlorimuron-ethyl, cloransulam-methyl, saflufenacil, fomesafen e carfentrazoneethyl, applied at 0; 0.5; 2; 8; 16; 32 and 64 fold the label dose, over the two biotypes (S and R). Control levels were evaluated 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after treatments (DAT) and also at 28 DAT the dry mass was determined. Data were subjected to analysis of normality by ShapiroWilk and homogeneity of variances by the Bartlett. Dry mass of biotype S, when subjected to the ALS inhibitors, decreased from 0.5-fold the label dose; biotype R demanded imazethapyr at doses 43.6x and 61.9x greater than the S, respectively to reach the GR50 and LD50. To chlorimuron-ethyl and cloransulam-methyl, necessary doses to achieve the GR50 and LD50 for the biotype R were above the dose range evaluated. Saflufenacil, fomesafen and carfentrazone-ethyl reached the GR50, respectively with use of 0.51, 0.34 and 0.13 fold the label, and the LD50 by using 0.19, 0.27 and 0.19 fold the label dose. The dairy R biotype showed cross to the ALS inhibitors and showed no resistance or cross-resistance or multiple and the mechanism of action of PROTOX.
