A abordagem sobre a "nova classe média" : uma análise do GT Estratificação Social e Desigualdade do Congresso Brasileiro de Sociologia de 2007 a 2017

Abstract

This work aims to present a thought about the process of social stratification and inequality and also the theoretical and methodological aspects that work with this theme nowadays. The research analysed empirically the scientific production about the Brazilian Congress of Sociology in relation to the group of work in Social Stratification and Inequality in the editions from 2007 to 2017. First of all, it was brought the basic theories with their different approaches in relation to the modern theories and gave a bigger emphasis to the social classes’ considerations. The understanding of the concept of habitus in Bourdieu is brought in a debate perspective with the theoretical production of the sociologist Jessé Souza about the Brazilian society, mainly, about the understanding of the “rising middle class”. With the study it was identified that from the a hundred and twenty-five works showed in the GT, only six and only from 2013 addressed this theme, which shows it is not a consolidated theme inside the GT. However, through the researches of the authors like Souza, Neri and Pochmann it starts to have exposure.
