As dores do silêncio: um estudo da violência que atingia as mulheres da região da grande Erechim na década de 1940 e 1950

Abstract

The present work has as its theme the violence suffered by women in the region of Erechim / RS in the 1940s and 1950s through the analysis of three sources available in the Municipal Historical Archive Juarez Miguel Illa Font. Two crime cases were analyzed, one of homicide and one of defloration, as well as a report published in the local newspaper A Voz da Serra. From the bibliography about the gender discussions and women's history, we sought to understand how they were represented in the legal discourse, as well as elements that would help us to understand their daily lives. In this way, we try to expose the socio-economic context in the period and then we make some considerations about the sources and then carry out the analysis of the documents verifying through the legal discourses the main forms of violence that affected women descendants of immigrants in the region of Erechim.
