A gênese da configuração territorial do Aeroporto Municipal de Chapecó-SC

Abstract

The means of transport are of great importance for the understanding of dynamics in the geographical space. Chapecó had a precarious access by land, when we refer to discuss the modal road and its unfolding in the city. Therefore, local power saw in aviation, a means of bringing development to the county, but also to the region. Besides, this research aimed to make an analysis of the territorial configuration of the municipal airport of Chapecó, showing from its genesis, how the process of transformation of the fixed and flows that surround the airport took place. To search for the items related to the past, the main source of this research was the Journal. This, which was the main means of communication during the analyzed period. However, access to information related to the survey was of great difficulty, since many companies operating in Chapecó failed or merged with others. However, this work was divided in four parts: the first one, showing the epistemological foundations of the geography of the transports; the second, aimed at contextualizing aviation at the national level; the third, aimed at listing some important points of the socio-spatial formation process of the city; and the fourth, show the genesis of Chapecó airport. The latter was divided into different spatio-temporal contexts, in which they redesigned Chapeco's air space from the 1950s to 2002 at the turn of the century. As some of the results, it was obtained that the local public and business power were of their importance for the development of the research object. For they sought new forms of investment, and a relationship with the providers of air services. In fact, the insertion of agroindustrial capital in the west of Santa Catarina transforms a new scenario focused on agribusiness, and the economic circuits surrounding agroindustrial complexes thrive. The territorial dynamics and strategies of competitiveness and competition also determined the closure and creation of new routes from Chapecó, or with a stopover in the city. With the upgrading of space, and non-monitoring of other flows, airports in the region stopped operating scheduled flights, concentrating on Chapecó. The same, which, after the 1980s, has become a regional hub, due to its concentration on service delivery. The research is partially closed in 2003, when, there is the insertion of federal capital in the interiorization plan of Brazil, and that it rearranges the Brazilian geographic space, leaving as a provocation to the new researches.
