| Resume: | O presente trabalho busca analisar caricaturas publicadas pela revista Semana Illustrada referentes à participação do Brasil na Guerra do Paraguai. A pesquisa objetiva verificar como o autor das imagens representava o Imperador, os aliados e o líder paraguaio no ano de 1865, ou seja, durante o conflito. Para tanto, realizamos inicialmente um breve relato historiográfico acerca da Guerra do Paraguai para, em seguida, tratar da importância das imagens como fonte e objeto para a escrita da história. Posteriormente, apresentamos a revista e analisamos treze imagens produzidas por seu criador Henrique Fleiuss. |
| Resumen : | The present paper seeks to analyze caricatures published by Semana Illustrada Magazine concerning the participation of Brazil in the Paraguayan War. The research aims to verify how the author of the images represented the Emperor, the allies and the Paraguayan leader in the year of 1865, that is, during the conflict. Therefore, we initially made a brief historiographic account of the Paraguayan War and then discuss the importance of images as a source and object for the writing of history. Subsequently, we present the Magazine and analyze thirteen images produced by its creator Henrique Fleiuss. |
