Abstract: | The corn crop has great importance for the agriculture of the country, being used as raw material for several sectors, adequate techniques are required to ensure good productivity, In this sense improving soil condition is essential. Using cover crops causes some soil conditions to improve, but their use may interfere with the culture of interest through allelopathy. Therefore, the objective of this work is to evaluate the allelopathic potential of aqueous extracts of black oat, ryegrass and Forage Turnip on the germination and initial growth of the corn crop, concentrations of 1, 5 and 10% were used, and the control was composed only of distilled water. The results were submitted to the analysis of variance using the SASM-Agri software, and a significance test was performed using the Scott-knott test. The results obtained allow us to conclude that the increase in the concentration of the extracts generates an allelopathic effect in maize, with negative effects on the percentage of germination, germination speed index, shoot length and root, and the appearance of abnormal seedlings. |
