Acompanhamentos funerários nos sepultamentos Guarani na região do Alto Rio Uruguai

Abstract

This work proposes the study of burials, especially funerary accompaniments found in the Guarani sites on the right bank of the upper Uruguay River. In the first moment, there’s a summary about prehistory in America, about the term "Guarani" and the history of this people, migrations and ways of life. In the sources, it was used basically the bibliography produced about the region. It was approached the main authors who work with the Guarani in the south of Brazil, seeking to reach the region addressed in the research. Then it was started from the bibliography, mainly through excavation reports for the description of the sites and materials found, characteristics, projects and geographic location. So we seek to reflect about these materials, their funerary context and how to think about death for the Guarani.
