O HIV/Aids na região sudoeste do Paraná e suas ações informo/educativas: o caso da Regional de Francisco Beltrão

Abstract

Discovering yourself HIV positive can impact strongly in the intimate life of the individual. It is a notice that opens precedent for a mass of daily changes, accentuating feelings of loneliness, rejection and remorse. Since the first diagnosed case of Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS), in the early 80s, its transmission has been exacerbated by stigma and prejudice, which are rooted in cultural and moral values of society about sexuality, attributing the responsibility of the virus spread to HIVpositive person's lifestyle. It is known that a preventive and health promotion approach, without moral and religious prejudice, is of great importance and impact on population health. Focus efforts on condom distribution campaigns and dissemination of correct information about HIV/AIDS can cause a significant reduction in behaviors that expose HIV-negative people at risk of infection by the virus and thus prevent further contamination. Moreover, ensure adherence and retention in antiretroviral treatment of the people who are living with HIV may determine the end of the inexorable imaginary equation "HIV = death". This work aims to analyze through qualitative and quantitative research which and how are developed the info/educational actions of preventive behavior and safe sex in the micro-region of Capanema, Paraná Southwest. And so, understand the world of HIV/AIDS, focusing efforts on comprehension of space-time, the practices, the symbolism and how the subjects assimilate and build the sense of this epidemic in their daily realities. Epidemiological data were collected from the 8th Regional Health, based on them, we sought to identify what are the info/educational activities developed with the micro-region of Capanema for the most affected public. It is noticed that although the public most affected are in the age group ranging from 20 to 49 years, there are limited actions to meet this public, with the greatest efforts being aimed at school children and pregnant women. Consequently, it is extremely urgent to think of spaces that meet the most varied spaces and ages, with informative and enlightening approaches that go beyond the simple distribution of condoms.
