Palinologia de espécies herbáceas e arbóreas da floresta ombrófila mista: um recorte espacial e temporal para Estação Ecológica da Mata Preta (ESEC da Mata Preta), oeste de Santa Catarina, Brasil

Abstract

This paper has as its goal to study, quality and quantify pollen morphology of the herbaceous and arboreal species found in the soil samples gathered from a region of the Mixed Ombrophilous Forest located in the vicinity of the Aberlardo Luz county in Santa Catarina in the Preservation Unit named Ecological Station of the Mata Preta. The palynology that is responsible for the study of pollen grains and spores, this science is characterized by the study of the classification and dispersion of pollen grains and spores in the environment, because from it we can determine the existence of plant species in the study site. The methodology utilized in this study follows the parameters appointed by several researchers, where the stages of material processing starts with the withdrawal of the soil with the help of a small gardening shovel, then the soil sample is submitted to chemical processes that remove the organic and mineral material leaving only the pollen grains and spores, lastly the assembly of the slides have as its objective to analyze the pollen grains found in the sample. The slides containing the samples are examined via optic microscope with the intent of quantifying and qualifying the palynomorphs, through a pollen diagram it is possible to visualize the distribution of the pollen grains and spores present in the analyzed samples.
