| Resume: | O presente trabalho pretende analisar as discussões parlamentares do Projeto de Constituição para o Império do Brasil em 1823. A implantação das Cortes Gerais e Extraordinárias da Nação Portuguesa e o seu intuito de retomar a hegemonia política e econômica de Portugal ocasionou a convocação do Congresso Constituinte no Brasil para elaborar uma constituição para o país. Baseado nas fontes produzidas pela Assembleia, buscou-se analisar as discussões do Projeto de Constituição, em especial os artigos que foram mais debatidos e que tratam dos cidadãos brasileiros, do juízo dos jurados e da liberdade religiosa. |
| Abstract: | The present work intends to analyze the parliamentary discussions of the Draft Constitution for the Empire of Brazil in 1823. The implantation of the General and Extraordinary Courts of the Portuguese Nation and its intention to retake the political and economic hegemony of Portugal caused the convening of the Constituent Congress in the Brazil to prepare a constitution for the country. Based on the sources produced by the Assembly, it was sought to analyze the discussions of the Draft Constitution, especially the articles that were most debated and that deal with Brazilian citizens, jurors and religious freedom. |
