| Resume: | Resumo: A Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais (APAE) de Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, atende indivíduos portadores de deficiência intelectual, condição expressada durante a infância e adolescência em que há comprometimento cognitivo prejudicando habilidades adaptativas do indivíduo. O objetivo deste estudo foi traçar o perfil epidemiológico da população que passa pela triagem da instituição. Foi realizada uma análise retrospectiva de 83 prontuários de pessoas triadas, em que dados como idade, sexo, procedência e diagnóstico foram coletados. Os resultados demonstraram que dentre os indivíduos que passaram pela triagem entre março de 2018 e março de 2019, 24,10% foram diagnosticados com retardo mental leve; 14,46% com transtornos globais do desenvolvimento não especificados; 13,25% com autismo infantil e 10,84% com síndrome de Down. Houve um predomínio do sexo masculino, sendo a maioria procedente de Passo Fundo, com idade entre 6 e 10 anos e renda familiar de até dois salários mínimos. Houve uma alta percentagem de histórico de internação em Unidade de Tratamento Intensivo (UTI) neonatal, apesar da maioria ter nascido com peso adequado e em idade gestacional apropriada. |
| Abstract: | Abstract: The Association of Parents and Friends of the Exceptional (APAE), in Passo Fundo, Rio Grande do Sul, attends to those with intellectual disability, condition expressed during childhood and adolescence, in which there is cognitive impairment for the individual's adaptive abilities. The objective of this study was to outline the epidemiological profile of the population that goes through the screening of the institution. This study was a retrospective analysis of 83 documents of people who were screened for age, sex, procedure and diagnosis. The results showed that among individuals who went through screening between March of 2018 and March of 2019, 24.10% were diagnosed with mild mental retardation; 14.46% with global developmental disorders; 13.25% with child autism and 10.84% with Down syndrome. The prevalence of the sample was male, coming from Passo Fundo, aged between 6 and 10 years and has familiar income up to two minimum times. The high incidence of the sample was admitted to a neonatal intensive care unit (ICU), despite having born with adequate weight and adequate gestational age. |
