O reflexo da vitimização no processo de construção de identidade na população LGBT e sua relação com a saúde mental

Abstract

The LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender) population has been directly in the reflection of sociocultural prejudice for years and, despite all the effects that cause the same problems on their mental health, they still belong to a group to which there is. few clinical productions wrote. This article is based on an exploratory qualitative research conducted with patients who use the service of the LGBT Health Reference Center in Passo Fundo, RS. The study aimed to understand how prejudice and suffering processes are reflected in their identity formation and how this is useful for mental health. A field research started with a semi-structured interview application with open questions, in order to obtain personal testimonials about the experiences lived by this population. An analysis was made from the content analysis proposed by Maria Cecília de Souza Minayo. The study was able to identify who had family, greater access to health and developed labor market easier for socialization, as well as lower identity-related stigma, with better quality of life and mental health.
