Prevalência de brucelose e tuberculose bovina em rebanhos leiteiros no município de Manfrinópolis, região sudoeste do Paraná

Abstract

Brucellosis and bovine tuberculosis are bacterial zoonotic diseases that are among the main diseases responsible for economic losses in dairy farming in Brazil. Therefore, the objective of this study was to investigate the prevalence of brucellosis and tuberculosis in dairy herds in the municipality of Manfrinópolis, the Southwest region of Parana state. The animals were tested for both diseases by a veterinarian authorized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA), and the results were recorded on forms. The screening tests for brucellosis and the tuberculinization for the tuberculosis were performed in a period of two years, from March 2012 to December 2014. The data identification with positive cases were proceeded for both diseases, and the tabulation of data was performed in spreadsheets Office (Excel). Between the years 2012 to 2014 were evaluated 4.766 animals for bovine brucellosis, 4.669 females and 97 males; seven animals were considered seropositive, showing a prevalence of 0.15%. For Tuberculosis were evaluated 4,760 females and 101 males, 16 of these animals were considered positive, showing a prevalence of 0.33%. The results exposed that both Brucellosis as bovine tuberculosis are present in the municipality of Manfrinópolis. However, the prevalence is considered low when compared to surveys conducted in other municipalities of the Southwest Region of Parana state.
