Abstract: | The conventional market for agricultural products based on Long Circuits has distanced the producer from the consumer and, in most cases, contributes to the exclusion of many farmers, especially those with less capitalized family base, this because, the low price of the sale of its products ends up making low-scale production unfeasible. Faced with this problem, some institutions and social movements have invested their efforts in alternative practices, highlighting here the Short Circuits, which seeks to add value to products by shortening the production chain. This work aims to analyze the Short Circuits of Production and Commercialization in the North region of Rio Grande do Sul with a focus on family farming. As specific objectives we seek to report these practices, some characteristics and potentialities and to highlight examples of success in the question of customer loyalty and also persistence on the part of producers in this area. The study was characterized as qualitative, exploratory and descriptive. For generating the data we carried out a case study with participant observation of character. As a result, it was observed that the Short Circuits are a viable alternative for family farming, as they value local actors and their production. Was observed as potential of this practice, bonds of friendship and trust between producer and consumer, the latter having access to a more sustainable food. In addition, it is observed that the Short Circuits in the studied region is a form of resistance of small family farmers against the current hegemonic system. |
