Significado da humanização para a equipe de enfermagem de uma unidade de emergência

Abstract

This study seeks to understand the meanings of humanization for the nursing team of an emergency unit in the west of Santa Catarina. The research characterizes with a qualitative study with a phenomenological approach. The research was developed in the emergency unit of the large general hospital, located in a city in the western region of Santa Catarina. The participants were 6 nursing professionals who work in this emergency; the instrument used to collect the information was the semistructured interview and for the analysis of the discourses the hermeneutics of Paul Ricouer was used. The meanings of humanization for the emergency nursing team revealed the following themes and subthemes: work process in the world of (dis) care, humanization in the world of care, being there in the encounter of the other, strengthening the relationship of care with the carers, elements favorable to humanization, care in the humanization of care, understanding about adverse events and building safe care. Understanding the meanings of humanization in nursing revealed the humanization lived and understood by these professionals in the unit studied, characterized by being an environment with propitious changes, in which the meaning of humanization was multifaceted. The meeting of humanization among the beings who provide assistance was manifested from the understanding of the human being as unique and taken with needs, able to share their experiences and experiences in the daily care
