Do campo à ação: convergências do feminismo no Movimento de Mulheres Camponesas (MMC)

Abstract

This Master's Thesis entitled From the field to action: convergences of feminism in the Peasant Women's Movement (MMC) intends to identify perspectives and convergences of feminism and its various presentations from a popular women's movement, the MMC. For the design of the dissertation, documentary sources were used, which constitute official documents of the MMC. The analytical categories are found throughout the text: capitalism, patriarchy, peasant women, feminism and the women's movement. The writing observes the research line n. 1 of the graduate program: Knowledge, Processes and Social Practices. In the course of this work, the relationship between the countryside and capitalism, and how women are situated in the peasantry is analyzed. In a second moment, it deals with the history of women linked to feminist movements, to further relate the MMC, through two of its documents, with a decolonial perspective, evaluating convergences and affinities with peasant and popular feminism. Peasant women organized themselves and sought to build other ways of living in society, based on their experiences, in an attempt to resist and face the patriarchal, racist and sexist base capitalist system.
