dc.description.abstract | The study of collisions of positrons and electrons with atoms and molecules is a current topic of investigation in the area of Atomic and Molecular Physics. In particular, the theoretical studies of collisions between positrons and molecules present significant divergences when compared with each other and with experimental results. In this work the basic theory of quantum scattering is introduced, together with the method used to solve the scattering equation of the positron-acetylene system (C2H2). The approximation employed in the description of the interaction potential requires the correct description of the molecular polarization in the presence of positron, since its addition to the electrostatic potential defines the total interaction in all the regions of the space, including the region of the molecular field, where the description should be treated at the model level. Thus, the differential and integral cross sections were calculated, allowing comparisons with other calculations and the experimental results available in the literature. | pt_BR |
| pt_BR |
