Os insetos na música popular brasileira: a música como estratégia no ensino de entomologia

Abstract

Music is almost everywhere, at work, on the streets, at home or at school, entertaining, distracting or just relaxing us. On the scholar context, music can be an important pedagogical tool, as we believe that it contributes in the teaching and learning process. Knowing that the Brazilian Popular Music (Música popular Brasileira, MPB) is rich and diverse, this work aims at those songs whose lyrics brings up the insects. This group, widely diversified, both in the number of species and in the roles that it plays in the ecosystems, is still seen in a negative or pejorative way for the most of us, mostly because of the lack of knowledge or for the spread of misinformation about it. Thus, considering that music can be an educational tool, helping the teaching process and bringing new questions and the ludic to the classrooms, this study has as its goal to analyse songs that contain insects (or groups of this taxon) in their lyrics and to propose the use of those songs as a teaching-learning tool in science and biology classes. To achieve such a goal, fifteen songs were selected and five were analysed by the Content Analysis methodology. After the analysis,Activities Plans were made as teaching strategies in the classrooms. It was possible to find many different insect groups in the songs, such as: Hemiptera, Siphonaptera, Phthiraptera, Coleoptera, Diptera, Hymenoptera, Blattaria and Lepidoptera, showing ,in most of them a negative or neutral view of the group ,ratter than positive. It was possible to recognize not only the taxon in all the five songs but their bioecological aspects and positive views about the insects in two of the songs. The Activities Plans were built in order to work in a more reflexive way, trying to demystify, inform and show a positive view of the insects from the songs and contributing to an accurate and critical view from the real role of the insects into the ecosystems.
