Abstract

This dissertation aims to comprehend how the unpaid work impacts in the human development of women. Thus, from a interdisciplinary epistemology, this work analise the historical construction of human rights, especially from The French Revolution and The Independence of United States of America, demonstrating their relevance to adoption of international system of protection in human rights. Besides, it presents a decolonial critique about the homogeneuos perspective upon the development of human rights. In the second chapter, this work analise the origins of a female gender stereotype based on writing from Gayle Rubin, Judith Butler, Donna Haraway, Joan Scott, Glória Anzaldúa and Gayatri Chakravorty Spivak, relating this studies with the creation of the myth: “Economic Man” such as, the conceptualization of the female unpaid work. Lastly, this dissertation exposes the affirmation to the right of human development as a human right and its relation with another themes, demonstrating the importance of the feminist moviment in surpassing an androcentric standard about human rights, especially about the right of human development.
