Abstract: | The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between financial performance and the organizational life cycle stages of credit cooperatives. The research was carried out through a descriptive, documentary and predominantly quantitative study. The data were collected in the annual reports published in 2015, in the respective cash flow statements of each cooperative surveyed. The relationship between financial performance and the organizational life cycle stages of credit cooperatives was verified using multinomial logistic regression. The stages of the organizational life cycle of each cooperative were identified considering the methodology of Dickson (2010), which identifies said phase (birth, growth, maturity, rejuvenation and decline) according to the configuration of the results generated by the cash flows of each organization. The financial performance of the cooperatives surveyed considered some indicators proposed from the CAMELS model. It is concluded that the indicators proposed by the CAMELS model can be related to the organizational characteristics of the Brazilian credit cooperatives. The results allow inferences that may contribute to the analysis of efficiency in the performance of cooperatives throughout their life trajectory. |
