Implantação e gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos: o caso de Laranjeiras do Sul e Pinhão - PR

Abstract

In 2010, Law No. 12,305 was created, establishing the National Policy on Solid Waste in Brazil. This aims to take care of the management of solid waste from its generation to its destination in the case of waste and disposal in the case of tailings. In this context, the purpose of this work was to know and analyze how selective collection occurs in two municipalities, Laranjeiras do Sul and Pinhão, both located in the state of Paraná. The research consists of a case study, using bibliographical and documentary research, and the data analysis was qualitative. Interviews were also carried out, whose information was obtained from a semi-structured script of questions, applied to five key actors involved with selective collection in the two municipalities, in order to seek details about the selective collection of waste and tailings in both municipalities. In relation to the costs of selective collection, budgets were researched on the city hall's website in relation to the expenses with this activity in some specific departments, as well as the costs with the company hired in the case of Laranjeiras do Sul. Both municipalities use landfills. In Laranjeiras do Sul, a Sorting Center was recently inaugurated for collectors to separate the materials and in Pinhão there is a project called Bufunfa that encourages the population to correctly separate the materials. Although there are improvements to be implemented, it is evident that the two municipalities have evolved not only in terms of the environment, but also in terms of social inclusion and income.
