A violência do latifúndio nos conflitos por terra: o caso do acampamento Dom Tomás Balduíno e a Araupel em Quedas do Iguaçu/PR

Abstract

This work aims to analyze and understand the violence in land conflicts experienced in the Dom Tomás Balduíno camping, located in the municipality of Quedas do Iguaçu - PR. A documentary, bibliographical, qualitative research was carried out with semi-structured interviews with members of the MST, to help prove what will be discussed in the course of the work. The first chapter shows that violence against peasants has been going on for a long time, since the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil. In the second chapter, we focus on the Araupel latifundium that continues the violence and torture against peasants, using interviews to present this idea. The last chapter focuses on the Dom Tomás Balduíno camping, organized by the Landless Rural Workers Movement (MST), in an area of company land that has already been sentenced as Union land. It is essential to highlight the camping as a place of struggle and resistance against the violence of the latifundium. With this, we demonstrate that the conflicts that occur over land have always been a reason for violence in the history of Brazil.
