| Resume: | O cristianismo é um elemento constitutivo e estrutural do mundo ocidental. O estudo de suas expressões e transformações é importante para a compreensão da sociedade brasileira e seus processos históricos. Nesse sentido, através do estudo de uma trajetória de vida, de mais de noventa anos (1930-), de um frei capuchinho que se tornou bispo da Igreja Católica Apostólica Romana e atuou de maneira expressiva para com os subalternizados, busca-se também estudar o contexto histórico social e o(s) modelo(s), ou doutrinas sociais, de Igreja em que ele estava inserido no Brasil e no mundo. Assim, esse trabalho busca construir uma narrativa histórica da trajetória de Dom Orlando Dotti, e do cristianismo no século XX, através de uma perspectiva da história vista de baixo, ou mesmo, da história vista de dentro. |
| Abstract: | Christianity is a constitutive and structural element of the Western world. The study of its expressions and transformations is important for the understanding of Brazilian society and its historical processes. In this sense, through the study of a life trajectory, of more than ninety years (1930-), of a Capuchin friar who became bishop of the Roman Catholic Church and acted in an expressive way towards the subordinates, we also seek to study the social historical context and the model(s), or social doctrines, of the Church in which he was inserted in Brazil and in the world. Thus, this work seeks to build a historical narrative of the trajectory of Dom Orlando Dotti, and of Christianity in the 20th century, through a perspective of history seen from below, or even, of history seen from within |
