Abstract: Breast cancer (BC) is a malignant neoplasm that affects women and men worldwide, with a high prevalence in females, with high severity and biopsychosocial impact. Of multifactorial origin, BC has high morbidity and mortality, whose treatment, whether surgical or pharmacological, generates several undesirable physical and psychological effects. From this context, the Association of Complementary Integrative Practices (PICS), through the application of Saint Germain Flower Remedies, aims to contribute to the reduction of pro-inflammatory molecules, acting as an adjuvant in mitigating the negative effects generated by the different treatments. However, no evidence has been found to date on the effect of Saint Germain Flower Remedies on the health status or recovery of cancer patients. In the present study, the relationship between the levels of two inflammatory markers, IL-6 and TNF-α, and of a hepatic marker, alkaline phosphatase, was verified in patients who used or did not use Saint Germain Flowers therapy as an adjuvant. chemotherapy treatment with Tamoxifen and who did not undergo hormone replacement. Participants consumed the prescribed doses of the floral: 2 drops a day for the study period (06 months). The placebo group received only the diluent (Brandy). Blood samples were taken for enzyme dosages before and 6 months after using the floral or placebo. The dosages of IL-6 and TNF-α were performed by the ELISA method and the alkaline phosphatase dosage by the colorimetric enzymatic kinetic method. All groups of patients had high levels of inflammatory markers, which is expected given the clinical condition of these patients. The results showed a small difference between the group that received the floral and the group that used the placebo, with a smaller reduction in the serum levels of IL-6 and alkaline phosphatase in the group that used the placebo. As the study with these florals is pioneering, it is necessary that more studies are carried out, since the differences found may be related to the use of florals.
