Author: | Peres, Lizandra Padilha |

Abstract: | Iron-free bees are essential for maintaining the biotic integrity of the ecosystem and stabilizing forest fragments. In this context, the study proposal focuses on the survey of native bee species at the Estação Ecológica Municipal Paulo Pinto de Oliveira (EEMPPO), in Porto Barreiro (PR), based on the location of nests and the use of bait nests. The survey of stingless bee species was carried out by installing bait nests and by expeditions into the forest to locate nests by active search. 5 nests of different species were found, namely: Tetragona clavipes (Fabricius) (Borá), Tetragonisca angustula (Latreille 1811) (Jataí), Plebeia emerina (Friese 1900) (Mirim-emerina), Pebleia remote (Holmberg, 1903) (Mirim-guaçu) and Scaptotrigona postica (Latreille, 1807) (Mandaguari-preta), in addition to foraging activity of the species Cephalotrigona capitata (Smith 1854) (Mombuca). It is assumed that the low number of records of bee species has occurred because the station belongs to an isolated forest fragment and the surroundings of the station consist of agricultural areas where it is assumed that pesticides are used, which are harmful to bees, in addition to the climate (rain and cold) that prevailed during the period of expeditions in the forest, which directly affects the behavior of the bees. |
