A imprensa brasileira em meio a uma tragédia política: análise dos jornais O Globo, Última Hora e A Voz da Serra diante do suicídio de Getúlio Vargas

Abstract

The present work intends to analyze which political influences the newspaper named A Voz da Serra would receive when publishing the news about the suicide of GetúlioVagas on August 24, 1954. Initially, we will analyze the politician Getúlio Vargas and his relationship with the press of the time during his period of government. Then, we will present the newspapers that will serve as a parameter to analyze the political causes and effects that are biased in favor or against Vargas's policy: Última Hora and O Globo. The objective here is to analyze the reports and headlines published by these three newspapers on August 24, 1954 that mention the suicide of Getúlio Vargas, in order to determine which political aspects the newspaper A Voz da Serra reveals to its readers.
