Mata ciliar às margens do Rio Uruguai Município de Chapecó: transformações entre 2010 e 2023

Abstract

This work seeks to know the riparian forest of the Uruguay River, originally identified as the Deciduous Forest of the Uruguay River and which, since the colonization process of the municipality of Chapecó/SC, has been largely devastated. The objective of this work is to identify/understand changes in the flora of the original riparian forest and its species, belonging to the Deciduous Forest of the Uruguay River, in the municipality of Chapecó, which have occurred since 2010 until the present moment. To this end, the methodologies used were bibliographical and documentary research, seeking to elaborate a brief history of the municipality of Chapecó with regard to the changes that occurred in the riparian forest of the Uruguay River (logging, agricultural and livestock cycle on the banks of the river) and to describe the process of planning and implementation of the Foz do Chapecó Hydroelectric Power Plant, as well as the project to restore the riparian forest after the flooding by the lake. Finally, the walking methodology was used in order to verify the existence of vegetation belonging to the Deciduous Forest of the Uruguay River in localities of the municipality of Chapecó on the banks of the Foz do Chapecó side. From this work, it is concluded that, since 2010, with the flooding of the Foz do Chapecó HPP reservoir, the new Permanent Preservation Area of the Uruguay River, in the municipality of Chapecó, is in the process of attracting different attractions, depending on the location, and it is possible to find native species of the FED, such as Angico, Lixeira, Canela-preta, Canela-do-brejo, Guatambu, Canjarana, Pata-de-vaca, among others.
